Champagne Shallot Vinaigrette Salad Dressing

I used to be intimidated by making my own salad dressing for some reason. I thought it would take forever to make and wouldn’t taste as good as my favorite store-bought brands. I only thought people who were amazing cooks made their own dressing. Once I started becoming more confident in the kitchen, I discovered that making salad dressing is quite simple and tastes so much better, many times, than store-bought dressings!

Benefits of Clean Salad Dressings

So many of the salad dressings in stores are filled with added sugar and other additives. Yes, there are many brands out there with “cleaner” ingredients but why not try to whip up a batch of your own dressing?

If you actually stop and take the time to look on the back of salad dressings in the grocery store, you might be surprised to see what’s actually in the dressings. Many times, those salads dressings are designed and marketed to make us think we’re eating clean and healthy by advertising them as “all natural” or slapping pretty pictures of fruits and vegetables on the front. So many dressings include a ton of preservatives and added sugars. Remember, if you can’t pronounce it, you probably don’t need to eat it! The fewer the ingredients, the better!
