You might have heard about the smoothie bowl craze by now. Smoothie bowls are really just as simple making your smoothie, pouring it into a bowl, and enjoying it with a spoon instead of a straw. Smoothie bowls are great for breakfast, lunch or even a healthy snack and are packed with a ton of nutrients, just like smoothies but they can be a little heartier when you get creative with toppings.

How to Make a Smoothie Bowl

Smoothie bowls are made just like smoothies but you pour your smoothie into a bowl instead of a cup! I like to make my smoothie bowls a little thicker than my smoothies so they’re a little easier to eat with a spoon. Plus, when it’s thicker, it feels like I’m eating more of a meal. To thicken the smoothie, add some additional ice or make sure the fruits and vegetables are all frozen. You can also use less liquid to get the smoothie bowl to the right thickness.

Smoothie Bowl Toppings

The one thing I really love about smoothies bowls is how creative you can get with the toppings. When your smoothie is in a bowl, there’s so much more room to add amazing toppings to the top. Not only does it help to add more texture and flavor, you can You can pack an extra punch with your smoothie bowls with some fun toppings. Toppings help to add more nutrition, texture and flavor. I always like making my smoothie bowls with some crunch. Consider adding these toppings:

  • Nuts

  • Cacao nibs

  • Hemp

  • Chia seeds

  • Oats or Granola

  • Raisins
