What is Macro Counting?

So what is this macro counting thing all about? Are you curious to learn more about it and figure out if it might be a good way for you to get healthier?

First of all, macros or macronutrients are the proteins, carbohydrates, and fats that make up everything we eat and drink. They are what we use for energy. When you count macros, you’re tracking the grams from each macro you consume instead of simply counting calories.

Some people are daunted by the idea of tracking all of the food they eat and shy away from trying macro counting because they think it’s too difficult to do. However, here are some benefits of trying this whole macro counting thing out:

  1. Macro counting helps you consume the right combinations of foods instead of simply calorie counting. You’ll learn how to construct well-balanced meals that keep you full.

  2. Tracking your macros helps you learn appropriate portion sizes. You might even be surprised to learn that you can eat more than you think while still trying to get leaner.

  3. The math works! If you follow the plan and hit your macro goals, you will find success.

  4. It’s not something you have to do forever. It’s a tool you can use to get back on track if you need a little reset and accountability.
